This sub-section contains answers to question you may have about a number of topics, most having to do with using your computer and it's programs. The Division Links, above will take you directly to the page, while below, I will try to explain some of what's covered in each.

Having been my family's "computer expert" for so long meant I answered a lot of questions. Some are along the lines of "What does it mean when...?", some are "How do I...?" and some are just questions.

Based on what I know, the programs I use and a little research, I've tried to explain. Now and then, I may find an FAQ that covers the subject quite well for the "rookie", and rather than reiterate what it says, I'll link directly to it. (Hasn't happened, yet - as of 06/2006), but I'm sure I've found many that I didn't include here. When I do...)

If you have anything you want to know how to do, and you believe I can help you, let me know. If it's something that I believe others will want to know, I will include the instructions and/or explanations here. If you know of a better way to perform the functions or routines, or a better explanation of the questions, let me know, also.

Email Information

When you send email to someone, you get messages back telling you the message wasn't delivered (at all or yet). This FAQ explains the messages and what (if anything) you need to do. There is also a little more on spam (that's not on the Spam FAQ), and how to strip out all those forwarding headers and footers, and otherwise "clean up" those forwarded emails you get from family and friends.

Image Processing

Some people don't know how to download pictures from their new digital cameras. Then, when they do, they send 'em off in email to family and friends without considering the size of the actual image. While in some cases, the recipient WANTS them "full-size", this FAQ explains how to process your pictures, from downloading them from the camera, editing them, converting them to another format, and shrinking them for the web.

Spam, not SPAM®

Everyone knows what spam is, right? Well, most people only know it's the "crap" or "junk" emails that incessantly show up in our email inboxes. Most have unsubscribe buttons and/or links, but when we click them and do what they say, we usually end up getting more spam. Why? This FAQ (from the Scams, Shams and More Flim-Flams Section) attempts to explain.

How Did You ... (OFP Stuff)?

How did I do some of the things I did during the redesign of OFPv2? While not an FAQ, OFPv2 Redesign Notes and the associated links try to explain what I did and why, but not very much of the how. This FAQ will show you the CSS and HTML, and try to further explain some of the things I did when building various OFP Sites, including and especially OFPv2.
