Claims

To be honest, I'm much more worried about people trying to take your money and health than I am about "gadgets" or "hard products" (as I call them).

These are those tools, cleaning and polishing agents, exercise equipment, kitchen appliances, collections, etc. that used to be the staples of infomercials. They show you the gadget, how versatile it is (and it almost always is), how GOOD it is compared to others (especially in price), and will sometimes offer you a two-for-one deal.

I have only partially researched one of them.

After I get OFPv2 completely revamped (and ALL the "Under Construction/Conversion" paragraphs like the one at the top of this page removed) I will be getting into adding more pages to various places, including here. Don't count on a lot of "gadget" reviews, though, because I believe that most are probably of decent quality (George Foreman Grills, some of the Ronco stuff, etc.), but SOME are surely of the quality of those cheap things you get out of certain mail-order catalogs.

Make sure the product is what it says it is, and doesn't say that it's "like" something good. Also, if it's electrical, make sure it's UL approved.

General Links, some with Warnings

Until I get some of my own reviews for gadgets up here, be sure to check out my Shams/Infomercial Info Links page for some good research links, and the following

WARNING: If you consider any site's offers, at least do as much research on them as you would in looking for a new house, car or doctor before buying anything. Also, be sure to read and understand any company's Privacy Policies and Terms/Conditions, too.

Gadget Infomercial Links

If you would like to find your own "negative reviews", and would like to narrow your search for "bad" stuff, more than I, use the company or gadget names (quoted if there are spaces), or the company abbreviations, with the terms "sham", "scam", "scams", "flim-flam", "complain", "complaints", "rip", "rip-off", "fraud", "warning", similar words, and maybe just "review", and see what you find.
