The Infomercial
The first time I saw this one, for much of the first half, I was shocked at what they were discussing. For the second half, I was on the 'net searching for "Klee Irwin" (yes... apparently his name is "Klee") and "Dual-Action Cleanse". Please note: We are not talking about a HOUSEHOLD cleanser here... We're talking about... uh... "internal cleansing", as they called it on the "show".
And apparently, he's not the only one who believes that "cleaning the colon" will "release accumulated toxins in the colon ... with ... less bloat, less water retention, improved energy and vitality." Using this product "is to support your body's natural ability to have 2-3 bowel movements a day[!] ... while assisting with overall vital organ health." We need another Mikey!
The infomercial was hosted by "Duke and the Doctor" (Joseph "Duke" Liberatore and his wife, Dr. Jan McBarron, M.D), who host a health-related radio show "heard in over 125 markets nationwide and is the premier radio program of its kind", Duke is "CEO of Peachtree Natural Foods. Peachtree Natural Foods is a rapidly expanding chain of health food stores with a dozen locations in the southeastern United States." Dr. McBarron. is "author of The Columbus Nutrition Program, a best selling book about a common sense weight loss formula. She is also the author of Flavor Without Fat, a best selling cookbook of fat free recipes" and "operates a thriving medical practice specializing in weight loss and nutrition." As is the "rage" now, the "network logo" for Health News Network (HNN) appeared in the bottom corner of the screen (albeit always on the left side, so REAL network logos COULD be included)
This is one of the things that scares me the most. The hosts are extremely intelligent people (see their bios, above), and they allow some of these people to say things that they HAVE to know are simply not true (ie: In this one, Klee said he searched the internet "just before the show" and found that "John Wayne had 44 pounds of impacted fecal matter in his colon!") JOHN WAYNE DIDN'T HAVE AN AUTOPSY! (be sure to read that Snopes article.) How would they have found anything like this to weigh? This in itself should make all other claims suspect, but of course, the hosts just nod ("Yeah... I heard/knew that") or stare wide-eyed ("I didn't know THAT!")
Klee cites the works of Dr Bernard Jenson, D.C., PH.D., Nutritionist a couple of times, and believe it was stated that "Dr Bernard Jenson is NOT a paid endorser," but it WAS stated that the "Hosts are Paid Endorsers." (Kinda explains the nods and eyes, huh?)
Klee seems to be one of the types of guests that interviewers love... Ask a question, and he can talk for some time on the subject. (For what appears to be a script of the show, see "An Interview with Klee Irwin")
Oh... And the FAQ on the website repeatedly tells you to check with your doctor, while my interpretation of what Klee said in the infomercial was "doctors are just front-men for the huge medicine companies". That's not exactly what he said, but what I got out of it.
The Product
Uh... I'm not going to describe this product any more than it already has been. I'm sure you get the idea. It comes in 2-3 bottles, all of which are tablets or powder to drink. Thank god I don't have to guess which goes where, if you understand my meaning.)
Oh... And in researching it, you would not BELIEVE how many people are into ... "cleansing". (Well, maybe you would.) EITHER way!
If you are "into cleansing":
- because of the John Wayne or Elvis Presley thing
- because of being shown ... shall we say "results"
- because of being told it will save the world (or whatever claim they make)
... be sure you read some of the doctors' statements in the links below. Basically, autopsies and other surgeries have NEVER shown the types of problems they are describing. (Elvis DID have problems, but it was caused by drug-use, not his eating habits or anything else.) I, personally, have seen surgeries on the Health Channel and have NEVER seen anything remotely resembling what they claim. Haven't you?

Reviews and Warnings
This section lists the sites where I found "negative" comments about the people and company, and/or the product. Some of the terms "sham", "scam", "scams", "flim-flam", "complain", "complaints", "rip", "rip-off", "fraud", "warning", similar words, and maybe just "review" were used in searching for negative comments.
WARNING: If you consider their (or others') offers, at least do as much research on them as you would in looking for a new house, car or doctor before buying anything. Also, be sure to read and understand any company's Privacy Policies and Terms/Conditions, too.

General Information (Colon Cleansing)
While there are a lot of people out there - especially those believing in and pushing "natural" products, and those believing in the great FDA/FTC/Doctor/Pharmaceutical Giants Conspiracy Theory - there is plenty of evidence to show that Colon Cleansing is NOT necessary. A couple of the below links support the theory/practice, but most are against it with extremely logical arguments.
