Splash Page
Published Late, 2004

I had "played" with Splash/Redirect Pages before (see BSA) and liked (and still do) that they can add more temporary content (such as special welcomes for Christmas and other occasions). I normally used META REFRESH with a zero-second timeout for those without anything on them to launch directly into the home page of the site. However, I found that Google and others don't like those pages, and even with a semi-hidden "Site Map" link on the page, tended to skip the sites. So, I either removed them, or, as follows, added a paragraph to describe the site and an image. I made the META Refresh delay for 30-60 seconds (or removed it completely) and made the picture a link into the Home Page of the site. (Just click it on the real splash screen.)

I created the larger logo image, below, so it could be put on t-shirts and other "advertising" items. Then I added the image to the existing "invisible" splash screen, added a description of the site, and reset the META Refresh. NOTE: For OFPv2, I have removed the splash screen.

Home Page
Originally published February, 2003

OFP (the name) was originally created so I'd have a "business name" to associate with websites I created. As noted, OFP (the website), though the design and banner existed, didn't come to fruition until my job was eliminated. It was originally designed as a vehicle to get my resume out. The OFP Version 1 Home page (See a new version of the skills list at Resumes Home Page in the Owner's Section, and other parts of the v1 home page scattered throughout the site), was designed explain the site's purpose and to list the skills I had obtained over the years. The 3D sidebar buttons are a table. When you roll over each cell the borders and color change (as with the sidebar here) to make it appear the button was "pushed".
