I write. I'm the editor of a "joke" newsletter to family and friends (and friends of...) and I've written "editor updates" since my father sent one out after a surgery where I couldn't get to the computer, because most of the people on my list know me, and many are interested. I have also been known to write the occasional non-fiction, fiction, song lyrics (and songs), poems, opinions, analysis and commentary, many of the latter three based on emails I've received.

This page is dedicated to those stories, articles, etc. As I feel comfortable with "the world" knowing my ... more personal writings, I will put more and more on here. In the end, I may end up with my entire songbook and all my poems here.

I don't claim to be a great writer. My grammar is probably not the best and I tend to get "wordy", according to a number of former supervisors. (These were more technical, trying to make sure everything is explained so almost anyone could understand and it carries over into most of my writings). I parenthesis "asides", and tend to include a LOT of asides. And, now and then I will probably "ramble." So I don't want to hear about those. Note that "[sic]" in a quote means that that's the way the original writer spelled it. I use a spell-checker, MAY include the original email, and normally, will not correct spelling in these. (Sometimes it may mean something in analysis.)

Please note that there is also analysis and commentary in the Scams, Shams and More Flim-Flams Section. Most of the commentary, here, are full articles, essays or opinions. If one of these items was prompted/inspired by an item that appears elsewhere on this site, I will provide a link to that page. There may also be links not associated with OFP or me. Simply close that window to return to where you were before the new window opened. Please note also: I have no control over content of any off site link unless noted.

If you enjoy these writings, don't copy them to forward them. (They will lose a lot of formatting!) I wrote and published them. and therefore, they are copyrighted. Please feel free to include a link to this page or the page on which the article exists. I will NOT be happy if I find any of MY stuff on someone else's site, or under someone else's name. (NOTE: I'm 6'-9" tall, built like a football lineman, and my kids are not "small" either! I also know a few lawyers... You DON'T want to "mess" with me! ) If you want to use anything on this site somewhere other than in that way (including slightly modifying it), email me at , tell me what it's for, and ask permission. I will PROBABLY grant it.

Anyway, just sit back, relax and read. Each item will include an email link to which you can give me feedback, if you wish. I will publish them (well, I will probably publish many of them - good and bad), on a Feedback page linked to that page. If I get too many responses, or have too many that require a response from me, I will probably have to find a free "blog" or forum system to include on this site.
