Family
The following pictures represent the generations of my family tree. Right now, this is all that's here. Roll-over the pictures for names and a little other information, and click on them for larger pictures. I will expand this section once I get OFPv2 up and running correctly, so check back. When done, each image will open a page with more images and info, including siblings, spouses and their children.
NOTE: Each if the images to which the thumbnails, below link, and that do not go to another webpage, are as large as I could make them and still keep them as clear as possible, to a maximum of either 600px high or 1000px wide, though there are a number that are smaller. Most of the latter have been cut from larger group pictures. Many of the following pictures are 100K or larger. If you are using a dialup modem, please be aware of this.
Special formatting note: The following section was designed to use centering and the Courier New monospaced font. Everything should line up correctly if your browser displays them correctly.

See my Aunt Wilma McCune Mintier's Manuscript about the Mintier Family Lines. (She was Harold Nichol Mintier's sister)
I also wrote a "Tribute to Mamaw", shortly after she died, April 21, 2007.
NOTE: I will NOT be including my full genealogy database on the internet soon for a variety of reasons:
- I have seen way too many sites that include others' work without any type of acknowledgement, attribution or source information. (And "Aunt Polly said Uncle Jack told her one of his grandfather's second cousins used to play cards with Wild Bill Hickcock and married his niece" is a place to start, and something to look for, not proof.)
- I do not want any of the commercial sites to use my information, then require others to pay for it. (When you submit your files to these sites, whether you store it there in public or private mode, they can strip the family information out, possibly tie it in with other "possible" matches and publish it in database they then require subscriptions for others to view. Then people use this information as "proof" their families are related.)
- Not everything is "sourced" or "cited" as well as it should be. When I began, I was just including the information I found without sourcing it. Then I started putting all the information in notes, and many individuals contain the same information. While that isn't necessarily a "bad" thing, I believe much of what I put there should have been "sourced", with the notes pointing toward it. Since then, I've also pretty much "standardized" my wording for notes, and only as I find and add information to those individuals does it get changed.
- I have a lot of information I've found that would add probably hundreds of individuals to the DB, but have not had time, working on this redesign, etc., to "do it right" (see #3), and each takes a chunk of time to do, so while hundreds of documents (pointing to hundreds of websites and webpages) prove connections, the family members noted in those documents have not been included, yet. I keep saying that I'll "get to it", but always seem to find someone else to research, or something else to do. (It's there, but...)
- I might (at some point) include at least a list of
names, locations and dates, so others with related
families can find and contact me, but the whole thing is:
- over 8500 names [10,000 on 06/11/2007], including "unknown unknown" (parents of the people I've found, and whom I've found SOME information for - like at least "state/location of birth") and "unknown Surname" (children and spouses of people I've found who only exist in my DB because of information gleaned from census and other sources)
- hundreds of images from various un-attributed sources (mostly family)
- the documentary evidence noted in #4, above take up quite a bit of space, and I don't think I have near enough room available to accommodate it.
- I also believe that images retrieved from Ancestry.com and other sites for my sources (secondary though many are), and which I would want to include, are copyrighted by those, and do not wish to get into any type of legal dispute about my having "published" them, too,
- There's also the problem of publishing personal information, and running afoul of privacy laws, for living individuals. I believe the information on these and following pages is "public" enough, it's limitation in scope, and being that it's my family, will allow me to publish this information. (Besides, I'll make sure they see it before I publish it, and remove any information they do not wish to "share with the world".)
However, things DO change. We will see.
