The Infomercial
Real Estate Riches in 14 Days
While I had notes on John Alexander's "Real Estate Riches in 14 Days" infomercial on the original OFP, it has been a while since I saw the infomercial.
I recall John started out standing in front of what appeared to be a castle, and for much of the infomercial, he's standing on a boat in a tropical shirt, telling us about his system. Testimonials are given on the boat, too.
I couldn't find a lot of "negative comments" on this product, when I first looked, except the following. Most are MUCH shorter than others in this genre (real estate investing). There appeared to be quite a number of questions on forums that were no longer available. (And it appeared some forums were completely shutdown.) Again, I'm just providing information so you can make an informed decision. The original purchase ($39.95 for books or $49.95 for CDs) is considered "Level 1".
"Level 2" seems to cost a BUNCH of money ($1000 or more). While this is the way other products seem to work, I couldn't find any actual information about how "hard" they push you to purchase the 2nd level (or higher). By BBB information, I believe this "Second Level" is Mentoring of America. If this is true (and, again, I believe it is), they push HARD, and it WILL cost a bunch of money. (See the Mentoring of America section, below.)
I also find that apparently, people had problems contacting the company by methods listed in the product or on the website (via email - bounces, via phone numbers - disconnected or put on hold "forever") for refunds, even for the Level 1 books/CDs.
Mentoring of America
Something else, John appears to at least partially OWN Mentoring of America. A couple of weeks after you receive your package, you will get a call from them. They will ask numerous questions, and tell you that you need the information they give you to succeed with the system. (Apparently, any "free support" in the package doesn't include this coaching - It's probably more access to the sites, you were "also" given.)
Please be sure to check out my Business Opportunity Coaching and Mentoring Services page.
I suggest that even if you decide to purchase John's system, DO NOT under any circumstances accede to Mentoring of America, and pay for "coaching".

Reviews and Warnings
This section lists the sites where I found "negative" comments about the people and company, and/or the product. Some of the terms "sham", "scam", "scams", "flim-flam", "complain", "complaints", "rip", "rip-off", "fraud", "warning", similar words, and maybe just "review" were used in searching for negative comments.
WARNING: Be aware that some of the following sites may be attempting to sell their own or lead you into buying another product. If you consider their (or others') offers, at least do as much research on them as you would in looking for a new house, car or doctor before buying anything. Also, be sure to read and understand any company's Privacy Policies and Terms/Conditions, too. A "$$" indicates these sites.

Subject: OFP Comments [OFPv2/SSFF - Shams/Infomercial Info - Shortcuts to Internet Millions(Jeff Paul)]Bill! Check this out! in your article Jeff Paul - Shortcuts to Internet Millions Your link to Rip Off Report, [link], now contains this!!!
Jeff Paul Pledges To Resolve Complaints... Consumers can feel secure and confident when doing business with Jeff Paul Van Nuys California.
Also, since this posting check out the last complain filed date! Looks like complaints no longer get posted!
Here's the link to the full release, [link]. I have a feeling some lawyer letters scared our friends at Rip Off Report. That's sincerely dissapointing isn't it?
-Michael
NOTE: While this email pointed specifically to Jeff Paul reports, I noticed that John Alexander's name was listed a couple of times. I redid the search for his name, and came up with 21 reports. It appears that all of THEM have the same "... Pledges to Resolve..." statements, too.
I'm not so sure about the last statement. ROR didn't look like people who scared easily. I have always contended that it's possible that many of these "gurus" may be on the up-and-up, but their fulfillment and response contractors may not be. Please don't misunderstand... I also believe that many of these gurus simply repackage many of their old lectures, seminars, and ideas, into relatively cheap softback books and sell them for huge dollar amounts. This is also not to say that these packages will not help SOME people, but many viewers believe these to be as easy as "open book, follow instructions, rake in dough," and that it will not require a bit of work. If those people on the informercials who say they did just that, and those who only work a short time a day or a week, and bring in bookoo bucks are to be believed, I would say 1) It's a fluke; or 2) They've been doing it a long time, and their business now is pretty much on "auto-run". (Remember the fine print as these testimonials are shown, "Unique experience - Your results may vary.")
Please note that the BBB (BAD Business Bureau), those who run the Rip-Off Report, have left all the negative comments at the above pages. However, they've now added an update to each stating the above. As with their info about the REAL BBB, and the complaints themselves, it's something to take with a grain of salt. I'm not saying to NOT believe them, but you have to judge whether you're willing to put up with the same possible problems others have.
As I've said all over this section of this site:
MAKE AN INFORMED DECISION.
And don't just go by what my site says. Be sure to check the other links, read the complaints and analyses and reviews, and go from there -wds
