Subject: The smell of SMC....
Good review of an obvious fraud Bill.
It's about profits for SMC, not entrepreneurs. They're sure not to advertise the fact that the products they import comes from CHINA either.
There's a local market here that has a small section loaded with what appeared to me to be SMC merchandise.
I asked the owner about it, and he confirmed it saying "the guy he rents the space to has trouble moving enough of it to pay for it."
You could tell by the dust alone that the largest portion of junk that "sells itself" has been sitting there for months in a busy, high traffic location.
As long as you move mountains of SMC garbage for SMC, and can tolerate the built-in frustrations of slaving for a scam, I suppose you can make a little extra money, but that's not exactly what I'd call success.
And by the way, that chubby frontman they're using now could pass for Drew Carey's brother. HAHAHAHAHA
Take Care!
I swear I've seen that spokesman elsewhere... Whether it was as a character on a TV show or movie, or other commercials, I don't know.

Subject: OFP Comments [Orange Frog Productions v2 - Owner - Contact Me]
Dear Bill,
I am Charlotte <last name removed> and I, unfortunately, fell for the SMC advertising. I have been trying to cancel my trial membership since June 2007 through my Discover Card. Nothing is working. I am on disability and do not have the extra $500 to spend when I am unable to follow through with the program due to my disabilities.
I have sent numerous letters to Discover and SMC trying to cancel. I have sent the cancellation letter required. I have sent back all the material sent to me with a $100 insurance policy, as required. I just received my latest statement from Discover and they are reapplying all charges from SMC that I thought we had charged back and began again to charge me $39.95 a month until the $500 is paid off.
Do you have any suggestions? A lawyer would cost at least $500 to sue and I just can't afford it. Has anyone else contacted you with this problem?
I'm over it. SMC will not let up and Discover will not help.
Can you help me?
Thanks,
Charlotte <last name removed>
I have received a few responses from people who try to get their money back from infomercials, but this is the first from SMC. You must contact someone in the credit card company (apparently, a letter is not going to work, so call them), and dispute the charges again. It may not be a problem with the credit card company, as as soon as SMC sees the charges removed, they may put them right back on until you give up. Some people have had to resort to canceling this card and getting another. Of course, you have to have a zero-balance to do so...
As for any other help, I refer you to my response to someone who requested help for NRPI. (Apparently, I will need to post the gist of that response as a stand-alone page!)
End Notes
Again, these are unsolicited emails I received, as I received them. I only changed formatting slightly (to allow word-wrapping) and removed the authors' names/identifying info, if requested. The claims and comments are the email authors'.
Please note: These experiences may POSSIBLY be extraordinary. As they say in health and business infomercials, "Your results (and experiences) may vary." Just be sure to do research on more than MY pages.
