NRPI Correspondence

Page last updated 07/31/2007

This page contains correspondence about my NRPI (National Recreational Properties, Inc.) page

I received an email (see below) saying that I had included a property that was NOT associated with NRPI on the page.

Bill, could you please give me a call at <phone number removed>. I represent Palm Coast Holdings, Inc. and would like to discuss why our corporation name is linked to NRPI…..I think that your intent was to list the City of Palm Coast not our company under the Product Website section. We have sold property to NRPI but are not affiliated with them. I would appreciate a call.

Thank you,

After reviewing my page (again), and the link in question, I responded.

Daar <name removed>,

I used all the websites listed in the online BBB report about NRPI at [website], of which www.palmcoast.com is one (and still is... I just double-checked). As I stated on my page, "from NRPI BBB listing, but appears to be owned/operated by "Palm Coast Holdings, Inc." The Florida address does not appear to be NRPI's."

If you wish to make a statement that I can use on my website that Palm Coast Holdings is in no way associated with NRPI, I will put it on my site at this point. If the BBB report is in error, you should contact them, then inform me when the palmcoast website is removed from there, and I will put THAT statement on the site. Please also include permission for me to use your full name and company position, to give this more credence to my readers.

Please see my response to someone else wanting me to CALL and discuss my page with them. And remember, if the BBB listing is incorrect, then THEY are the ones where it needs to be corrected.

Thank you for your interest in OFP.

Today, I received another email from the representative.

Bill, thank you for your response. I have contacted the BBB and they have eliminated our website (palmcoast.com) from the NRPI website list. We ask that you do the same.

Bill, thank you for deleting our website from the NRPI website list. I do mind that you have published my emails and ask that you please delete them …….I never wanted to make a statement as you suggested in your first email, we just wanted our website deleted from NRPI’s list. Thank you, <name removed>

Dear <name removed>

I can understand your not wanting your name, itself, or your position with the company, published in association with this,

However, and I hope you understand why, I feel I MUST include the complete correspondence (not just the blurbs on the associated page), as it explains more thoroughly why my page changed. While I don't get an enormous number of hits at this time, I do get enough (for me) that I want my readers to understand what changes I made, and why I made them.

I have removed your name and contact information (sorry about missing the phone number the first time), and I hope the page is more acceptable to you, now. (Please note that the end-notes of the correspondence page explains Allete and Allete Properties, and includes links to the company's websites.)

Thanks again for your interest in OFP, and I apologize for any misunderstanding on my part.

Bill Sanders

End Notes

As I have stated in numerous places on this site, if anyone finds anything I've said in error, please let me know (and let me know how you know it's in error), and I will either change the statement, or put your dissenting opinion either at that point, or on a feedback/responses page, linked from the point.

I guess I must also state that emails about the subject are fair game. Unless I receive permission, I will block out names and contact information, but the emails will explain to readers why there were changes in the page(s) in question.

Now, in case you were wondering, here's a little more information:

Allete Properties, owners of Palm Coast Holdings, Inc.,

...acquires real estate portfolios and large land tracts at bulk prices, adds value through entitlements and infrastructure improvements, and resells the property over time to developers, end-users and investors.

(source: About ALLETE)

and is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Allete,

ALLETE generates, transmits, distributes and markets electrical power for retail and wholesale customers in the Upper Midwest. ALLETE also owns a significant portfolio of real estate in Florida, and BNI Coal in North Dakota.

(source: About ALLETE)

Allete Properties apparently owns land in Lehigh Acres, one of the NRPI Properties, and apparently sold some of it to NRPI
