Please be sure to review my Spam, not SPAM® FAQ.
I am only including a few recently received (in 2-3 week period, ending around 06/2006), representative emails and their header information. These are REPRESENTATIVE EXAMPLES ONLY. I am not including any email headers. You can see some samples on the Spam Examples w/Pics page.
While my page background is green, most emails received had a generic white background. I receive email in HTML format (I get a lot of pictures from my family), so these are basically Spam that had no pictures (meaning EVERYONE could get them). I will try to "reproduce" the actual "look" of the email in my examples.
NOTE: While businesses and companies being advertised may be legitimate advertisers, and I'm even willing to believe that in some cases, the email itself may be from a legitimate direct-mail or direct-email business, the methods used (Spam) are NOT "legitimate".
I have absolutely NO CLUE why I'm receiving some of these emails.
In the following:
- Formatting:
- Many of the following have been at least slightly reformatted. (If you've received any of them, you should recognize it, anyway.)
- Some "wrapping" may occur, depending on your window width and screen's resolution.
- Other changes:
- I removed the links. It LOOKS like there's a link there, but it's empty.
- My notes and any "internal changes" in background text are in blue, square-brackets ("[" and "]"), and are highlighted.

NOTES:
Some versions include the lines: "-Administrative Officer" before the link and some "*Please let us know the best time in the future so we are not in this situation again." after the link.
BTW: I received this "final attempt" about 25 times from different Spammers, And don't recall EVER having received a FIRST attempt.

I know the way I am with computer games. I also know gambling. I ain't gonna come anywhere NEAR an online casino! It's been shown time and again on television how easy it is to lose EVERYTHING, and not even realize it, since it's "just playing a computer game". NOT INTERESTED IN ANY WAY, SHAPE OR FORM.
You have been pre-approved for a $420.000 loan, with a fixed low rate.
Bad credit, Bankruptcy? Doesn't matter, low rates are fixed no matter what!
I'm on a freakin' fixed income (see elsewhere on this site). I can barely cover the bills I have now. How in the hell am I gonna afford A HALF MILLION dollar loan?!?!? Ever wonder why so many people go bankrupt? Because they fall for things like this.

Notice the addition of a period (.) in some words that might be filtered.
THIS one appears to be for one of those "life-experience" schools. (I can get a degree without required testing, going to any classes, buying/renting any books, or interviewing with a school advisor?) So, I can spend a couple hundred dollars (bet it's more!) and have a piece of paper from a "school" on the wall? You don't think people KNOW about these "schools"?
My point is it's NOT a school. It's a PRINTING SHOP. They will PRINT you a legal-looking degree for some "school" (hopefully not a REAL school). And, as I said, businesses (and law-enforcement) KNOW about these schools. In other words, it's SCAM Spam!
Let's just say, "I'm not interested" in a school that
advertises by Spam, and leave it at that, ok? (Oh... And is
the "school" accredited?
)
And am I the ONLY person who's somewhat scared that there are people out there with degrees in accounting(!), business(!), criminal justice(!), education(!), HEALTH(!) and technology(!) who people actually hire believing they have a REAL degree? So the CPA around the corner, the businessman running the BBB, a cop, lawyer or judge, a teacher or principal, a nurse, doctor or surgical tech, or the guy that wires my house for computers, alarms, or cable MAY NOT have the correct education?

[Following is a representative "filler" paragraph included and visible (it IS text) in each of the above medicine emails, following the sales list]
between them. He sat and thought and thought, until his head nearlyburst, but no bright idea would come. One invisible ring was a very fine thing, but it was not much good among fourteen. But of course, as you have guessed, he did rescue his friends in the end, and this is how it happened. One day, nosing and wandering about. Bilbo discovered a very interesting thing: the great gates were not the only entrance to the
[I have (obviously) received MANY variations of this one... Originally and sometimes still, the top part (the meds list) was an image. This required the paragraph for the same reasons the "Spam w/Pictures" did and do.
Note that last list, especially the HTML version. Since many business and home email users block specific words found in spam email, and assuming the client receives HTML email, they've split the names of the medicines in two or more groups (see the text version) and added "throw-away" letters between. These "throw-away letters" are shifted to the far right, leaving the actual medicine names on the left. This is much more sophisticated and complicated than the other versions, where they simply replaced a letter with a character, in some cases, making them more difficult for some to read.
I could use cheap medicines, but that's what scares me... CHEAP MEDICINE, not QUALITY MEDICINE. Not intersted.

Not according to my most recent credit report. And again, why would I be interested in ANY company that advertises using Spam?
Other Text Spam
I've also received numerous versions of email extolling certain ... uh ... length enhancers, volume enhancers and a couple of different "toys", if you know what I mean. I'm over 50 years old. I can "manage" everything I need to manage. I know where to look if I want any of these. (And no... I'm not talking Porn sites.) I don't want to deal with ANYONE who sends Spam. Thank You for your "concern", though. I haven't received them recently, so maybe "all contact (has) cease(d)". Yeah... Right... If you believe that, I have a bridge to sell you!
That reminds me... In the period of four (4) days (07/13/2006-07/16/2006), I received three emails in an account I seldom use, but on which I keep tabs. I used to got emails similar to these on one of my main email accounts a while back. Here's the new one:
i sawyour pictureonline you'rehot youwant tohookup mymsn, messneger is
What's really strange is that I got this EXACT SAME from THREE (3) separate "women" - LancaumedarelltAlmira@hyoyrs.com, EvansrosannehSahiba@rjjvhofcbnyqhkuoovfuqr.com, and ThaiarakGILDA@nkijpcfdqu.com. The MSN Messenger IDs were: "hotgirlnat" (two "girls" used this ID), and "femalethatshorni". The "attention-grabbing" subjects, were "sorry about your face"(?!), "how many more tims", and "ithinkimgoodforyou". They were mailed to (apparently LISTS, because MY email address was not shown: "tmc", "lwpkfibgpas", and "miwcrvsattstre".
Now, it's flattering that they think "I'm hot". HOWEVER, the ONLY place they would have seen me, that I know of, is my new Blog. True, a few years ago, I was listed in a few free "personals" websites, and I BELIEVE I included a picture on a couple of them, and I recently created a blog on which I have my picture, AND when this version of THIS site "goes live", IT will have a picture. But otherwise, I have absolutely NO CLUE how they could have "seen me". Besides that, the email address to which these were sent was NOT attached to ANY of those locations.
AND, our schools must REALLY be teaching bad English... I mean THREE "GIRLS" sent me the EXACT SAME email with the EXACT SAME misspellings and spacing problems. ALSO, ONE girl seems to be somewhat Schizophrenic - She sent me TWO emails with different names and email addresses and ONE MSN id!
The ones I saw previously had messages about how we'd talked on the internet or phone, basically alluding to great phone-sex, or how they liked doing what "I" asked them to do on their web-camera. I believe a few of them even alluded to us having met for a "great night".
Even when I was "between wives", I wouldn't have been interested in any woman who would Spam me with emails like this. GEEZE!
AND, as I pointed out to my wife, if she didn't KNOW me (and she does), believe me (and she does) or trust me (and she does - Damn I LOVE her!), these types of spam email could get a guy into a LOT of trouble, and almost be "grounds for divorce" and I'll bet it's happened. Trust me, ladies. If you have no other grounds for believing your husband is doing anything mentioned, they are probably Spam!
I wonder how many WOMEN get Spam emails like this? ... And
from girls, or guys?
